CNMI Operation Wellness

CNMI “Operation Wellness” will be providing the following services at no cost to the community from July 12 through 20, 2023. Military Personnel will offer the following services:

US and CNMI Flags Lowered to Half-Staff in Honor of the Life and Service of Honorable Candido “Candy” Taman

In deep respect for the passing of the Honorable Candido “Candy” B. Taman, I hereby order that the flag of the Commonwealth, together with the flag of the United States of America, are to be flown at half-staff at the Juan Atalig Sablan Memorial Building and upon all public buildings, instrumentalities, and grounds within the Commonwealth until the sunset of the day of his interment. 

CCDF Conducts Training on Precautions in Transporting Children

Recently, providers from centers subsidized by the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) completed the training for precautions in transporting children. This training was facilitated by Evergreen Learning Quality Care Specialist Maricar I. Pena. It meets the required 12 health and safety topics all providers must complete and was made possible through funding from the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Child Care, CNMI CCDF program under the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs.

Governor Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang administered the Oath of Office to Dr. Elizabeth Emma C. Itibus and Monique B. Sablan to serve on the CNMI Scholarship Board. Their educational backgrounds, their passion for advocating for students and educators, as well as their commitment to public service will contribute toward the further advancement and growth of the CNMI Scholarship Office.

CCDF Providers Complete Building and Physical Premises Safety Training

Thirteen certified Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) providers recently completed the training for building and physical premises safety, including identification of and protection from hazards that can cause bodily injuries such as electrical hazards, bodies of water, and vehicular traffic. The training was facilitated by Evergreen Learning Quality Care Specialist, Maricar I. Pena and meets the required 12 health and safety topics that all providers must complete. This training was made possible through funding from the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Child Care, CNMI CCDF program under the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs.

Governor Leon Guerrero, Representative Moylan Express Thanks for CNMI Assistance

Governor Arnold I. Palacios today stated that he received separate calls from Guam Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and U.S. Representative James Moylan (Guam) earlier this week. The two Guam leaders expressed their gratitude to Governor Palacios for the CNMI’s assistance in Guam’s typhoon recovery efforts. 

Proclamation – CNMI Nurses Week – June 11-17, 2023

WHEREAS, the CNMI Nurses Association will celebrate the 36th year of CNMI NURSES WEEK on June 11 to June 17, 2023, with the theme “You Make a Difference” in celebration of the ways in which nurses strive to provide safe and high-quality patient care and map out the way to improve our health care system.
