Free Safety Course on Excavations & Trenches Given by UCSD to the CNMI in a Classroom Environment

The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) is proud to announce its partnership with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) in providing a free safety course on excavations and trenches in a classroom environment. The course is designed to equip construction workers, contractors, and safety officers with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure a safe working environment in excavation and trenching operations.

WHEREAS, teen dating violence is pervasive, yet an underreported crime in our community that happens in person, online, and through technology. This form of intimate partner violence affects millions of teens every year. It is a pattern of behaviors involving the use or attempted use of abuse including physical violence, sexual violence, psychological aggression like emotional abuse or intimidation, and stalking of another person with whom they have or have had a teen dating relationship; and

In Meeting with Governor Palacios, Senior Military Officials Emphasized Support, Communication

Senior military officials, including Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy, Installations and Environment/Chief Sustainability Officer) Meredith Berger, and Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps General David H. Berger, traveled to Saipan yesterday to meet with Governor Arnold I. Palacios as part of high level talks to expand cooperation and communication between the CNMI and the U.S. Department of Defense.

Empowering the Youth, Shaping the Future

Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
