The national theme for the 2023 Catholic Schools Week is
Senior military officials, including Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy, Installations and Environment/Chief Sustainability Officer) Meredith Berger, and Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps General David H. Berger, traveled to Saipan yesterday to meet with Governor Arnold I. Palacios as part of high level talks to expand cooperation and communication between the CNMI and the U.S. Department of Defense.
In a meeting held with Governor Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang, Honorable Carmen G. Cantor, Assistant Secretary for Insular and International Affairs, U.S. Department of the Interior confirmed $1.65 million in Compact Impact grant funding for the CNMI.
Governor Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang today met with U.S. Congressman Gregorio “Kilili” Sablan to discuss a range of issues that included the financial challenges that the Commonwealth is facing.
In response to Governor Arnold Palacios’s invitation and request to meet, the Honorable Carmen G. Cantor, Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of the Interior (International and Insular Affairs), has confirmed that she will be visiting the Commonwealth next week.
Governor Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang today announced that they will be providing the public with the CNMI Government’s general state of financial affairs when they have completed a thorough and comprehensive assessment of all financial records, audits, and other relevant documents. The Administration is also currently reviewing all transition reports and financial records that have been prepared and compiled by the various transition teams assigned to evaluate current government operations.

Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
