Governor Palacios, Law Enforcement Department Heads and Officers Attend Blue Mass to Pay Tribute to Our Fallen Law Enforcement Officers

As part of CNMI Police Week, the annual blue mass took place this morning at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cathedral, paying tribute to law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, as well as those who continue to serve today.


Governor Arnold I. Palacios, alongside distinguished officials including Department of Public Safety (DPS) Commissioner Clement R. Bermudes, Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DFEMS) Acting Commissioner Juan A. Pua, Department of Corrections (DOC) Commissioner Anthony C. Torres, Commonwealth Ports Authority (CPA) Ports Police Chief Juan T. Dela Cruz, and representatives from various law enforcement agencies, gathered in attendance. Cabinet officials and local dignitaries also joined the event.

Proclaiming the week of May 14-20, 2023 as CNMI Police Week, Governor Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang call upon the community to participate in the ceremonies and observances honoring law enforcement officers, past and present. They emphasize the importance of recognizing the dedicated service, sacrifice, and preserving the rights and security of all citizens, as well as showing respect to the survivors of our fallen heroes.

Empowering the Youth, Shaping the Future

Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
