DLNR announces construction of protective barrier at Garapan Fishing Base


In conjunction with the CNMI Office of the Governor and the Department of Public Works, the Department of Lands and Natural Resources (DLNR) wishes to announce the construction of a protective barrier at the Garapan Fishing Base to reduce erosion and improve water quality in the Saipan Lagoon.

Child Care Providers attend School Age Care Environmental Rating Scale Updated Trainings

On June 11, 18, and 25, 2022, twenty-nine after-school child care providers from eight different child care centers throughout Saipan attended a 3-hour training cohort series on School Age Care Environmental Rating Scale Updated (SACERS-U). The training sessions were held at the Kagman Community Center and conducted by Evergreen Learning Coach Erlaine DLG. Evangelista. 

Update on Department of Labor Online Portal Maintenance

The CNMI Department of Labor (Department) is providing the general public with the progress of its vendor’s online portal maintenance for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) federal programs. 

IRP Archaeological Team recovers WWII Dog Tag

The Infrastructure and Recovery Program (IRP) under the CNMI Office of the Governor announces the recovery of a World War II dog tag by the IRP archeological team during archeological testing work in San Jose in advance of the Northern Marianas Housing Corporation (NMHC) funded sewer and drainage project. 

CNMI Division of Energy announces Appliance Rebate Voucher Extension for Tinian and Rota Recipients

The Department of Public Works, Division of Energy Office would like to inform all Appliance Rebate Voucher Recipients of Tinian and Rota only and respective Participating Registered Vendors, Retailers and or Suppliers under the CNMI Energizing Insular Communities – Energy-Efficient/Energy Star Appliance Rebate Program (CNMI-EIC-EE/ESARP) that an extension granting an additional 30 days to the voucher redemption period is hereby approved for all appliance rebate vouchers issued in May 2022 to Tinian and Rota residents only.

2022 Rota Energy Educational Awareness and Community Outreach Program Campaign Drive-Thru Distribution Event

The Department of Public Works, Energy Division Office along with the Office of the Governor, Office of Grants Management (OGM), will be hosting its “2022 Rota Energy Educational Awareness and Community Outreach Program Campaign Drive-Thru Distribution Event.”  With the continuing rise in the utility rate, the Division of Energy, along with the Office of Grants Management, will be promoting energy conservation to encourage implementation of energy measures to help reduce energy use and save money by distributingPortable Gas Stove and Butane Gas Canister to residential households.     

Governor Torres allocates $475k for local athletes in revised budget submission

Governor Ralph DLG. Torres on July 1, 2022 submitted a revised proposed budget for the Commonwealth Government and Related Agencies for Fiscal Year 2023, which, as mandated by the Constitution, is balanced with the total amount of proposed expenditures not exceeding the total estimated resources available for appropriation.

Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
