2022 Rota Energy Educational Awareness and Community Outreach Program Campaign Drive-Thru Distribution Event

The Department of Public Works, Energy Division Office will be hosting its “2022 Rota Energy Educational Awareness and Community Outreach Program Campaign Drive-Thru Distribution Event”. With the continuing rise in fuel costs and utility rates in the Commonwealth, the Division of Energy will be promoting energy conservation to encourage implementation of energy measures to assist residents reduce energy use and save money by distributing 16-inch standing fans or LED light bulbs (10 ea.) to residential households.     

CCDF – Child care centers attend health and safety trainings

On Saturday, October 23, 2022, fifteen participants from three child care centers across Saipan participated in two-hour training sessions on the following required health and safety training topics: Prevention of and Response to Emergencies Due to Food and Allergic Reactions, and Administration of Medication, Consistent with Standards for Parental Consent. The trainings were conducted by Evergreen Learning’s Quality Care Specialist, Maricar I. Pena at the Evergreen Learning Training Center in Chalan Kanoa. 

Governor Torres Provides Assistance to the NMIBF’s U15 National Teams As They Represent the CNMI in the 2022 FIBA Oceania Championships

Governor Torres on Thursday afternoon met with Northern Mariana Islands Basketball Federation (NMIBF) President James Lee, team coaches, and players of the NMIBF U15 National Team to present a check totaling $22,434 which will be used to cover the team’s expenses on Guam as they represent the CNMI in the upcoming FIBA U15 Oceania Championships from November 21-26, 2022.

CNMI receives blessings from Pope Francis

The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands were blessed by Pope Francis, as Governor Ralph DLG. Torres and First Lady Diann T. Torres were welcomed by Pope Francis following a pilgrimage to the Vatican City. 

Regional Leaders Converge on Saipan to Discuss Emergency Communications, Cybersecurity, and Broadband

Governor Ralph DLG. Torres on Thursday greeted and spoke to visiting delegations from Guam, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the U.S. mainland representing regional governments, federal and state entities, and policy bodies throughout the Pacific who are meeting to discuss broadband, cybersecurity, and emergency communications. Governor Torres thanked them for coming together to share their respective challenges and opportunities in the spirit of collaboration for growth.

The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
