Prohibition of alcohol sales in the CNMI on Runoff Election Day

The Honorable Governor Ralph DLG. Torres, through the Office of the Secretary of Commerce, hereby gives Notice to the Public that on November 25, 2022, in accordance with Title 4, Section 5557(a) of the Commonwealth Code, an on-sale or off-sale licensee shall not sell or serve alcoholic beverages on any island where an election is in progress during the hours when the polls are required by law to be opened for voting, except as otherwise provided. This prohibition shall apply from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 25, 2022.

Furthermore, in accordance with Title, Section 5557(b) of the Commonwealth Code, the prohibition with respect to the sale or the serving of alcoholic beverages whenever an election is in progress during the hours when the polls are required by law to be opened for voting shall not apply to on-sale licensees operating within the sterile passenger holding areas at commercial airports, hotels, hotel resorts, golf resorts, casino resorts, and any licensee operating at Managaha island, within the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
