Statement by Governor Ralph DLG. Torres

Lt. Governor Palacios and our families together with the entire Marianas send our thoughts and prayers for Governor Lou and her family at this time.

This virus affects all of us, and we need to do our part to slow the spread by helping one another as one Marianas. We need to take this seriously. Wash your hands. Watch your distance when out in public. And wear a mask.

Please avoid unnecessary travel except trips to the grocery store and picking up food and medication. Please avoid contact with our man’amko and our loved ones with preexisting illnesses. They are most at risk to contract severe illness from the COVID-19 virus.

As one Marianas, we remain resilient in the face of the worst storms and economic downturns, and we emerged stronger because we made the collective choice to work together and look out for one another. Lt. Governor Palacios, CEO Esther Muña, COVID-19 Task Force Chairman Warren Villagomez, and our elected officials will continue to support our nurses, doctors, and first responders to protect you and your loved ones.

As Governor Lou said, please use her experience and courage as a reminder to protect yourselves, your families, and our beautiful islands.

Let us continue to be Marianas Strong.
