Governor Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang joined the Commonwealth Cancer Association, health professionals, and community leaders in proclaiming April as Oral Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout the event, speakers emphasized the critical role of early detection, regular screenings, and education in preventing and treating oral cancer. They also underscored that cancer impacts not just the individual but their loved ones as well.
In his remarks, Governor Palacios expressed gratitude for the tireless efforts of advocates and healthcare professionals working to fight oral cancer. Lt. Governor Apatang echoed this sentiment, adding that one of the most effective ways to prevent oral cancer is by avoiding the habits that contribute to its development.
