Celebrating Mental Health Awareness & National Adolescent Health Month

Yesterday, Governor Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang, together with the CNMI Public School System Mental Health Program and Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation, have officially proclaimed May 2025 as Mental Health Awareness and National Adolescent Health Month in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

In his remarks, the Governor encouraged everyone to not hesitate in seeking help, noting that today, more resources and programs are available than ever before to provide support. He expressed his sincere appreciation to the agencies and mental health programs committed to the well-being of the youth. The Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed this message, urging individuals to break through self-imposed barriers and seek guidance when needed—emphasizing that the journey to healing begins with the courage to take the first step.

Empowering the Youth, Shaping the Future

Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
