Join Us for the 11th Annual CNMI Women’s Summit

Mark your calendars for the 11th Annual CNMI Women’s Summit, taking place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Multi-Purpose Center in Saipan, CNMI. This year’s theme, “Accelerate Action: Empower, Elevate, Inspire,” highlights the contributions of women leaders and advocates in social, cultural, economic, and political spaces within the CNMI.

Governor Palacios Meets with U.S. Senate Staff Delegation

Governor Arnold Palacios this morning met with a bipartisan congressional staff delegation from the United States Senate. During the meeting, Governor Palacios highlighted key priorities, including the resumption of 902 consultations, the restoration of Covenant funding, labor force challenges, and other economic support initiatives. The discussion also covered other vital issues, such as improving air connectivity, integrating CNMI businesses into the defense supply chain, and support for cabotage exemption, among other topics.

CNMI, U.S. Department of Defense Discuss Updates on Military Initiatives

As part of the CNMI’s recurring engagement with the U.S Department of Defense, Governor Arnold Palacios, Lt. Governor David Apatang, along with other CNMI officials, today met with senior military leaders, including Admiral Gregory Huffman, Commander, Joint Task Force Micronesia, who provided a top level overview of military projects and activities that are planned or that are already taking place throughout the CNMI. 

March Proclaimed as Red Cross Month

Yesterday, Governor Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang officially declared March 2025 as Red Cross Month, recognizing the unwavering dedication of those who serve with compassion and commitment to helping others in times of need.

Bridging Cultures, Expanding Horizons

Recently, Governor Arnold I. Palacios, along with the Marianas Visitors Authority, joined E-LAND Micronesia Resort Inc. to welcome members South Korean media to the CNMI, highlighting the islands’ breathtaking beauty and strong ties with Korea.

While in the Nations Capitol, Governor Arnold Palacios had the opportunity to meet with a considerable number of Japanese government officials and high-level businessmen and women, fostering discussions on potential investments and economic partnerships. Additionally, he led an insightful panel discussion on the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) at the Heritage Foundation, highlighting the region’s economic opportunities and strategic significance. These engagements reinforced efforts to strengthen international partnerships and promote the CNMI on a global stage.

Empowering the Youth, Shaping the Future

Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
