Saipan, CNMI— The Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force announces the launch of its new Pandemic Mitigation Platform for foreign travelers entering into the CNMI to streamline user registration, COVID-19 status monitoring and updates, contact tracing, case management, business/organizational digital logbooks, QR-code establishment check-in, and traveler PCR/vaccination uploads. Soon to come will be consolidating Customs and MVA online forms into the same ecosystem.  Further Directives are forthcoming concerning the Safe Travels Marianas Platform rollout and implementation.

“My team and I are proud to announce this platform developed by our people in conjunction with global players in the IT industry. This system will keep our economy open and our people in the Commonwealth safe. Also, I ask our people to please register your business establishments so we can all be safer by using technology to improve and innovate contact tracing in the Marianas,” said Governor Ralph DLG. Torres.

Next Steps

  1. The Task Force authorized representatives will begin implementation and onboarding with CNMI businesses and organizations soon.  An announcement will be provided in this implementation phase this week.
  2. The following steps will be announced in due course.

Information

Safe Travels Marianas (STM) is a web and mobile application (available on iOS and Android) that enables contact tracing by alerting its users if they have come into close contact with COVID-19 cases declared by the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force under suspected, probable, and confirmed statuses.  Through the STM Platform, it will help mitigate against the spread of COVID-19 through advanced contact tracing, health condition reporting, case management modules, and social distancing reminders customized for travelers.

Businesses/organizations will have the ability to register an account with a unique QR code for each entry and exit point of their establishments.

Travelers/users will be then required to scan the QR code upon entering the premises of an establishment. From there, the software will automatically log a visit for that user to that establishment, creating a community-wide digital logbook while still protecting travelers’ private information.
