DIRECTIVE 2023-001 – Suspension of Within-Grade Increases (WGI) and Merit Awards

SUBJECT:     Suspension of Within-Grade Increases (WGI) and Merit Awards

In order to stabilize the fiscal condition of the Commonwealth government, it has become necessary to suspend all Within-Grade Increases (WGI) and Merit Awards government-wide, as outlined pursuant to 1 CMC § 8214 of the Commonwealth Code.

This decision comes in light of our current financial situation. I want to assure you that we are exploring every opportunity to mitigate the impact of these circumstances.
