CNMI approved for $2.5 million to strengthen CHCC medical capacity in response to COVID-19 pandemic

Governor Ralph DLG. Torres, Lt. Governor Arnold I. Palacios, and Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC) Chief Executive Officer Esther L. Muña, through the Office of Grants Management (OGM), announce that the US Department of Interior (DOI) Office of Insular Affairs (OIA) has approved the drawdown of $2,518,897 in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding to expand and strengthen medical capacity at CHCC and quarantine sites as part of the CNMI’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CNMI Department of Labor clarifies PSS earnings reporting method

The CNMI Department of Labor (CNMI DOL) would like to clarify circulating information regarding the method to which certain Public School System (PSS) employees report earnings for their Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) claims.

CNMI DOL receives clarification on PSS staff eligibility for PUA

The CNMI Department of Labor (CNMI DOL) received clarification from the U.S. Department of Labor – Employment and Training Administration (USDOL-ETA) on Thursday regarding the eligibility CNMI Public School System (PSS) staff for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC).

CNMI Government disburses first batch of PUA/FPUC benefits

Governor Ralph DLG. Torres and Lt. Governor Arnold I. Palacios, through Secretary Vicky Benavente and the CNMI Department of Labor (CNMI DOL), have announced that the first batch of Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) has been transmitted to the CNMI Department of Finance for processing.

The Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC) would like to inform the public that two (2) additional people have been recently confirmed to have contracted COVID-19, bringing CNMI’s current case count to 33* since March 28, 2020.
