Governor Ralph DLG. Torres on Thursday announced that he and Hollywood producer Brad Krevoy are set to create a film industry in the CNMI by developing a movie studio, creating new jobs for local residents, and producing a minimum of 20 motion pictures during the next five years.
On November 12, 2022, a total of 29 Child Care Providers from Golden Harvest International School, Loving Hands Daycare, R&EQ Day/Night Child Care Center, Smart Start Daycare, and St. Joseph Tinian completed a training series on Mind in the Making (MITM) – Seven Essential Life Skills. These training sessions were facilitated by Evergreen Learning Training and Development Specialist, Grace M. Mallari, together with Rayanna Fitial, Science of Early Learning Administrative Assistant at Evergreen Learning Training Center in Chalan Kanoa.
Last Saturday, November 12, 2022, seven child care providers from two centers in Saipan attended two sessions on the required health & safety training topics, (a) Prevention of and response to emergencies due to food and allergic reactions and (b) Handling and storage of hazardous materials, and appropriate disposal of bio-contaminants. Both sessions were held at the Evergreen Learning Training Center, Chalan Kanoa, and conducted by Evergreen Learning’s Quality Care Specialist, Maricar I. Pena.
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) recognizes that America Recycles Day, which began over two decades ago on November 15th, 1997, is a call to a unified global movement aiming to improve waste management systems and combating the effects of climate change in our environments.
Governor Ralph DLG. Torres on Thursday with CNMI Office of Planning and Development (OPD) Deputy Director and Garapan Revitalization Task Force Chairman Christopher A. Concepcion, U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) representative Joaquin S. Quenga, CNMI dignitaries, staff of OPD, local business partners, representatives from various CNMI government departments and agencies, and members of the community broke grounds for the Garapan Revitalization Project.

These Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, and Coast Guardsmen have endured many sacrifices to defend the freedoms that make our islands and nation what they are today.
Last Saturday, November 5, 2022, child care providers from three centers on Saipan attended two sessions on the required health and safety training topics: (a) Precaution in Transporting Children and (b) Building & Physical Premises Safety (including identification of and protection from hazards that can cause bodily injuries such as electrical hazards, bodies of water, and vehicular traffic). Nine participants in the morning session and eleven in the afternoon session participated in the trainings, which were conducted by Evergreen Learning’s Quality Care Specialist, Maricar I. Pena at the Evergreen Learning Training Center, Chalan Kanoa.
The Honorable Governor Ralph DLG. Torres, through the Office of the Secretary of Commerce, hereby gives Notice to the Public that on November 08, 2022, in accordance with 4 CMC, Subsection 5557(a), an on-sale or off-sale licensee shall not sell or serve alcoholic beverages on any island where an election is in progress during the hours when the polls are required by law to be opened for voting, except as otherwise provided. This prohibition shall apply from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 08, 2022.
On Thursday, Governor Ralph DLG. Torres met with Northern Marianas College (NMC) Foundation Board Chairman Vicente Babauta, members of the NMC Foundation, NMC Board of Regents Chairman Charles V. Cepeda, members of the NMC Board of Regents, NMC President Dr. Galvin Deleon Guerrero, Associated Students of Northern Marianas College (ASNMC) officers, and NMC student organization, faculty, and staff representatives to present a check for $100,000.00 to the Northern Marianas College Foundation.
Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
