Governor Ralph DLG. Torres on Wednesday issued the following statement on the House of Representatives’ decision to pass House Bill 22-95.
Governor Ralph DLG. Torres on Tuesday signed Directive No. 2022-001, to implement the CNMI Executive Branch’s FIT-TO-LEAD Health and Wellness Campaign.
On April 18, 2022, Labor Secretary Vicky Benavente received an official notice from the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) Regional Administrator Nicholas E. Lalpuis, commending the CNMI Department of Labor (CNMI DOL) for successfully resolving all programmatic issues vis-a-vis USDOL’s audit of the CNMI Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program.
On April 9, 2022, CNMI childcare providers under the CNMI Child Care & Development Fund (CCDF) attended a workshop entitled “Technology 101,” conducted by Ms. Paulette Failauga of Evergreen Learning, located in Chalan Kanoa, Saipan.
The CNMI Office of the Governor Infrastructure and Recovery Program (IRP), and the FEMA Interagency Recovery Coordination (IRC), under the FEMA Joint Recovery Office, will be holding their third training under their Joint Training Initiative to increase local capacity. This training will cover Public Assistance in coordination with the Governor’s Authorized Representative (GAR) and both the local and FEMA Public Assistance Offices.
WHEREAS, nearly all incarcerated individuals will eventually leave prison or jail and return into our community; and
WHEREAS, the people of the Commonwealth are served every single day by public servants at every level in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of government. These unsung heroes do the work that keeps our Commonwealth working; and,
The CNMI Office of the Governor has received a copy of the charges filed by the Attorney General against Governor Ralph DLG. Torres. The Office of the Governor trusts in the CNMI’s justice system and declines to comment further on the pending litigation. The matter has been forwarded to Governor Torres’ private counsel.
The safety and health of the residents of the CNMI remain the top priorities of the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC). With approximately 60% of those fully vaccinated having received a booster shot, declining COVID-19 cases, and the current COVID-19 Community Level, entry protocols will be updated.
Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
