CNMI Labor announces phone numbers for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance

The CNMI Department of Labor (DOL) continues to work with the US Department of Labor in launching the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program and the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) program.

“The CNMI’s PUA Implementation Plan is in review by the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration.  This week, CNMI DOL is in training sessions for Phase One of the Plan, which is the Initial Claims process.  Another training session this week is for the Adjudication and Determinations. At the same time, DOL staff continue to ensure that the services are provided to the public, as much as possible,” said Secretary of Labor Vicky Benavente.

CNMI DOL understands the public has many questions about these new programs.

“We understand the need and importance for these programs to be implemented quickly, correctly, and securely. At this time, there are still many CNMI specific aspects to operations and logistics that are being finalized with our federal partners. As soon as that operational programming is completed and approved by USDOL, CNMI DOL will publish community resources and guidance,” added Secretary Benavente.

If you have general questions regarding the PUA and FPUC programs, you may call any of the phone numbers listed below between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday to Friday:
