CNMI DOL to hold Virtual Conference for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) Programs

The CNMI Department of Labor would like to inform the business community, government agencies, and the general public that it will host a virtual conference from 9:00 am – 10:00 am via Zoom on Monday, June 15, 2020.

The virtual conference will provide an update on the status of the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation(FPUC) programs here in the CNMI and will also feature the general guidelines for completing Phase I and II of the program:

·      Phase I: Business registration and the registration of employees by respective businesses through HireMarianas.com

·      Phase II: The benefits application process for claimants through HireMarianas.com.

For businesses planning to join the Zoom meeting, pre-registration for this meeting is required. Please pre-register at https://tinyurl.com/CNMIPUAWebinar.

Because the Zoom meeting has a limit of 100 participants the CNMI DOL will be streaming this virtual conference live on Facebook through the CNMI Office of the Governor Facebook page. CNMI DOL encourages both employers and employees to watch via Facebook at www.facebook.com/GovernorCNMI/.

CNMI DOL upgraded its HireMarianas.com portal, a Virtual One-Stop System (VOS) used by DOL’s Workforce Investment Agency (WIA) to register, track, and manage its clients, and to incorporate the modules needed for PUA/FPUC functions. The system is used both regionally and nationally and has advanced security measures with a strong focus on data Confidentiality, Availability, and Integrity (CIA).

In the event that you may need alternative means of assistance, are not able to access hiremarianas.com or need more information, you can email info@puamarianas.com or call one of our PUA/FPUC hotline numbers:
