Governor Torres announces temporary restrictions to safeguard the CNMI

Citing an increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, Governor Ralph DLG. Torres, the Governor’s COVID-19 Task Force, and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation (CHCC), announced that the CNMI COVID-19 Emergency Directives have been amended to implement new guidelines on in-person interactions, public gatherings, and vaccine verification to protect the health and safety of the people of the CNMI.

MEMORANDUM – Closure of non-essential government offices for the next 14 days

Protecting the health and safety of our people has been the main priority during this COVID-19 pandemic, and I will continue to do everything I can to keep our community safe against this virus. Accordingly, I am hereby shutting down all non-essential government offices in the Commonwealth for the next 14 days from Monday, December 6, 2021 through Sunday, December 19, 2021.

2021 Saipan Energy Educational Awareness and Community Outreach Program Campaign Drive-Thru Distribution Event

The Department of Public Works, Energy Division Office will be hosting its “2021 Saipan Energy Educational Awareness and Community Outreach Program Campaign Drive-Thru Distribution Event” to promote energy conservation and implementation of efficiency measures that reduce energy use and also save money by distributing Energy-Efficient LED Light Bulbs OR Portable Gas Stoves to residential households.  The Division of Energy will also be educating residential consumers and the community about the importance of energy efficiency and conservation efforts in the CNMI and its impact to the protection and preservation of available precious natural resources in the environment.

Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
