Statement from the CNMI Office of the Governor on charges filed by AG

The CNMI Office of the Governor has received a copy of the charges filed by the Attorney General against Governor Ralph DLG. Torres. The Office of the Governor trusts in the CNMI’s justice system and declines to comment further on the pending litigation. The matter has been forwarded to Governor Torres’ private counsel.

Department of Labor Resumes Work Registration with NAP Participants

The CNMI Department of Labor (CNMIDOL) announces the resumption of the Work Registration Program for Nutrition Assistance Program (NAP) participants effective April 1, 2022. Through a Memorandum of Agreement between the CNMI Department of Labor and the Department of Community Cultural Affairs, the Work Registration Program was developed to assist unemployed adult NAP participants seek and gain employment.  CNMIDOL Supervisor James Ulloa recently met with NAP Administrator Walter Macaranas to formalize the resumption of the Work Registration Program.

Since the release of the Department of Defense (DOD) 2015 Commonwealth Joint Military Training (CJMT) Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), Governor Ralph DLG. Torres, the Tinian leadership, and the Northern Islands Mayor have led the charge to ensure that the concerns of the people of the CNMI are heard and addressed by our federal partners.

Empowering the Youth, Shaping the Future

Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
