Acting Governor grants administrative leave on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in honor and celebration of Liberation Day Festivities

DATE:            July 1, 2022

FROM:          Acting Governor

TO:                 All Department and Activity Heads

SUBJECT:     Administrative Leave for Friday, July 1, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.

In honor and celebration of our Commonwealth’s Liberation Day Festivities, I am hereby authorizing non-critical employees of the Commonwealth’s departments and agencies to take Administrative Leave on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.

Every year, Liberation Day is an opportunity to reflect upon the challenges and changes that we have collectively endured and overcome in the CNMI. From the historic closure of Camp Susupe to where we are today as a Commonwealth, our journey of freedom and resilience is one that underscores the significant ability of the people of the Marianas in recovering from adversity and working together for the benefit of everyone who calls these islands home.

As we commemorate 76 years of freedom, let us remember and honor those who devoted their lives to the protection of our freedoms, including those who defended the Marianas in World War II, and those who continue to defend the CNMI today.

This Liberation Day, let us celebrate history, freedom, and hope while cherishing time with family, friends, and loved ones. Happy Liberation Day, CNMI!

God bless and stay safe,

/s/
