Celebrating Humanities in the Commonwealth

Governor Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang, in partnership with the Northern Marianas Humanities Council, proudly proclaimed October 2024 as Humanities Month in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

In their remarks, the Governor and Lt. Governor, both, thanked the Humanities Council for their continuous hard work in strengthening the humanities in the Marianas through community dialogue, educational programs, and publications. Governor Palacios emphasized the critical role the Humanities Council plays in fostering dialogue and understanding, particularly due to ongoing geopolitical conflicts and the unique melting pot of cultures that the CNMI has become.

Empowering the Youth, Shaping the Future

Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
