Yesterday, Governor Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang, alongside the Commonwealth Cancer Association, members of the CNMI Legislature, and numerous government and community partners, officially proclaimed October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In his remarks, Governor Palacios honored the incredible courage, strength, and resilience of those impacted by breast cancer, as well as the unwavering dedication of healthcare professionals, caregivers, and advocates who tirelessly fight alongside them. Lt. Governor Apatang reinforced this message, calling on the entire community to unite in raising awareness and offering support to those battling the disease. He encouraged everyone to participate in events throughout the month, demonstrating their solidarity and collective commitment to finding a cure.
The Proclamation was read by Breast Cancer Survivors, Bernice Ferejan and Lorraine Tenorio, followed by Wendielyn Escota, who shared her story of her battle against Breast Cancer. Sumer Ackley, Nurse Practitioner with the CHCC Oncology Center, was the final guest speaker for the proclamation.
