Raising Awareness: April Designated as Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Governor Arnold I. Palacios and Lt. Governor David M. Apatang recently proclaimed April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. During the proclamation, they were joined by  the Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence and various representatives of local advocacy groups, who highlighted the prevalence of sexual assault and the importance of supporting survivors in the CNMI.

In the proclamation, Governor Palacios and Lt. Governor Apatang urged the community to to speak out against sexual assault and actively support local and national efforts aimed at ending Sexual Assault. They emphasized the mission of the Coalition, which is to “promote, nourish, and sustain a collective movement to end violence in the CNMI.”

Empowering the Youth, Shaping the Future

Lieutenant Governor David M. Apatang, together with Delbert T. Pua, Special Assistant for the Office of Youth Affairs, recently proclaimed October 2024 as Youth Empowerment Month. The proclamation was made in the presence of members of the Legislature, Cabinet officials, and community partners, all united in their commitment to improving the lives of our youth.
